WHY NOT A CHRISTIAN?
by A.S.A. Jones
A humorous, poetic look at
the irony of self-righteousness.
Why not a Christian? I could never be!
Those damn Christians use profanity.
I hate Christians with my entire soul, because
hate filled intolerance is their only goal.
Why not a Christian?
They are stupid, can't you tell? They don't read,
they can't spell, we should inkarsarate them in a
cell!
Christians make poor husbands; they cheat and
they tell lies. How do I know this? I've slept with
their wives.
I'm so happy I'm not a Christian!
I'm no hypocrite!
No God, no sin, no wrong, no regret.
I have faults of my own? Is that what I heard you
say?
Well! I may have some *issues*, but I'm not half
as bad as they!
Who are you to judge me? Who, to
criticize?
You're a judgmental Christian, whom I
despise.
I would love to continue, but I must say good bye
-
I have much more to say, but there's something
stinging in my eye.
I can't see what it is, in order to give it a
yank.
When I turn to the mirror,
my view's obstructed by a plank!
But I'm so happy to not be Christian!
I won't be a hypocrite!
No high standard from which to fall;
No ambition, no ideal, no regret.
THE PARADOX OF BIBLICAL JABBERWOCKY
by
A.S.A. Jones
The sky was dark, the earth was bright,
Its green was all a gray.
It dawned on me that very night,
I must leave this world to stay.
No wood or bricks could my home make,
No fire could keep me warm,
The truth had been a grave mistake,
Its safety had brought harm.
The Son of Man, The Son of God,
By chance, there was a plan.
What made sense was very odd,
That God should be a man.
I found my life in dying, then,
My weakness made me strong.
Self-hatred let me love again,
Set apart, I now belong.
